Historical Perspective

Here’s a great article by Myrna Blyth about how McCain’s repeated references to historical figures and events might actually hurt his chances. The premise being that not many people have the perspective to appreciate the contexts. It also mentions the idiot gaffe made by Biden that Katie Couric just let slide on by. Perhaps she was too tired from beating Palin over the head.

  1. There were some good points in this article, but it was kind of all over the place. I think McCain can use his knowledge of history to show that he is more intelligent and more experienced than Obama. He does need to use other opportunities to show he is ‘with it’ such as talking about the Internet, or referncing popular culture. I don’t think that historical knowledge and contemporary knowledge are mutually exclusive.
